The Canadian artist Marc-Aurèle Fortin is known for his landscapes of towns in Quebec. This jigsaw puzzle uses a painting he made in 1938 depicting the village of Saint-Siméon. The painting can be seen in the Museum of Fine Arts in Montréal. In the painting you can see how the mountains come right down to the coast of the St. Lawrence River north of Quebec City. I always enjoy visits to Quebec or other parts of Canada, and this jigsaw puzzle can remind me of such travels.
