This woven pile material is made from a woven poly blend and is among our thickest fabrics. It is fire rated for nightwear and woven in the EU.

Snug and comfortable, towelling fabric is a crease free material. Colours are deep and rich when printed on towel fabric, a great contrast to the crisp white base colour. The closed loop weave allows for deeper penetration printing and due to the fibrous nature of the material the surface area isn't completely even, giving each custom towel fabric order it's own unique character. You may notice white flecks when you brush the fabric a specific way, this is normal for towelling fabric and adds further to the unique character.

What is Towel Fabric?

A soft loop pile fabric which has been designed to absorb moisture, terry fabric was originally a woven fabric however may also be warp or weft knitted. Our towelling fabric is constructed using a closed loop, woven poly blend to give that truly traditional, soft, towelling feel. 'Terry' comes from the French 'tirer' which literally means 'to pull'. This is due to the way that the towelling was made by pulling the pile loops out by hand. Over time this fabric has had many names, terrycloth, terry cotton, terry towelling, and more commonly, simply towelling. This super-absorbent material is perfect for tea towel fabric, bath towels and flannels as well as nappies. Due to its soft pile and comforting nature, it is also commonly used for many baby items, as well as slippers and bath robes or dressing gowns.

Printing and Finishing

Our towel fabric is digitally printed, in full permanent colour and comes with a choice of four different finishing options. You can choose to have your tea towel fabric hemmed, with either an overlock or baby hem with either black of white thread. If you don't wish to have one of our expert seamstresses hem your towelling material, we can send it either cut on the line (with no white edges) and as it comes, straight from the printer with a white border around the edges of your custom print.

Make a Collage

If you can’t decide on which photo to use, you can upload multiple images and create a photo collage. This can be done using one of our pre-set montage templates, or you can create your own entirely from scratch. It’s super easy to do and the possibilities are endless.

Hints and Tips

  • The more images you add to your collage the smaller each image will be. Fewer images will be larger and give you more clarity and detail.
  • The more people in an image, the less detail there will be. If you have 10 images of a group of five friends, each person will be smaller than if you have 10 images of just one person.
  • Try to make sure that the longest side of each image is around 10 centimetres. There is a handy ruler built into the design tool to help you with this.
  • Smaller products will not be able to fit as many images as larger ones will.
