The herringbone weave is a traditional pattern, formed by repeating V shapes to produce zig-zagged lines (hence the name 'herring bone' as it looks like a fish skeleton).

Our Mayfair herringbone fabric is a woven poly-blend, featuring a tight closed weave that gives it a degree of opacity. The spun poly yarns give herringbone fabric a distinctive soft, cotton-like feel, making it ideal to use for making sofa throws, cushions, and even lightweight jackets if you're feeling ambitious.

How to Care for your Herringbone Weave Fabric

As a popular choice for furnishings, your Mayfair herringbone is an easy to clean fabric. Machine wash at 30°c, medium tumble or hang dry and if you need to, iron on a low heat. Of course, if you're using the material to attach to something non-machine washable, then please do not attempt to put in the washing machine.

Or you could look to make a lovely throw for your sofa. The added thickness means it's durable enough to withstand everyday wear, so you can sit on it, or simply use as decoration. Hints and Tips

  • The more images you add to your collage the smaller each image will be. Fewer images will be larger and give you more clarity and detail.
  • The more people in an image, the less detail there will be. If you have 10 images of a group of five friends, each person will be smaller than if you have 10 images of just one person.
  • Try to make sure that the longest side of each image is around 10 centimetres. There is a handy ruler built into the design tool to help you with this.
  • Smaller products will not be able to fit as many images as larger ones will.

Herringbone Print Fabric

By using a specialist dye sublimation process, the ink is bonded to the herringbone fabric meaning it won't peel away or scratch off. You can choose any design, whether it's photos, illustrations, or graphic design. The base colour of our Mayfair textile is an off-white/cream, giving it an authentic, sort of vintage style look. Because of this, darker colours really pop and have a nice contrast. To get the best results, we'd suggest avoiding large areas of pale colours, as they might get lost against the off-white base.

*What's more, you can choose from four edge finishes to suit the nature of your craft DIY project: cut on the line; hemmed with white thread; hemmed with black thread or just left as it is.
