How to Make Your Own Board Book for Toddlers
These felt books for toddlers are so much fun and you can keep them in the family forever as a special keepsake. Babies and young children will be amazed to see their faces and names inside of a storybook, which is great for encouraging them to read, solve puzzles or identify animals, for example. Make your own board book and evoke their natural curiosity.
Step 1: Decide on a theme
Will your personalised board book be a fun learning resource, bedtime story, kids photo album, or something else entirely? You know your child best, so choose something that you know is going to be engaging.
Step 2: Design the front cover
This is the first thing your baby will see, so make it visual to draw attention and get them excited to see what's inside.
NB: The way that we do our board book printing means that your photos aren't printed over the spine, so bear in mind the bleed area when adding your images to the front and back cover.
Step 3: Think about layout
An idea might be to keep text on the left hand pages, and images on the right, especially for younger tots who are just starting to learn words and the concept of reading. Edit the text size, colour and font to complement your design, making sure it's big, bold and clear. For learning things like animals, family members names, colours etc, placing the text on the opposite page is also handy for when you want your child to guess the word on their own. The first and last pages are ideal to use as an introduction and 'The End'.
Step 4: Check the preview
Whilst we always check and contact customers regarding image quality, we cannot check spelling and other aspects of your design. Use our preview and zoom functionality to make sure you're happy with your photo board book or story books before proceeding to check out.
